Bangrak and Sathorn are just two of 50 districts in Bangkok.
Bangrak can be translated as “village of love” and, as such, it is the most popular place to register marriage especially on Valentine’s Day.
Sathorn is named after Sathorn Road and Khlong Sathorn. The original khlong was a canal dug for public transportation and eventually Sathorn Road was built along both sides of the canal.
There are many interesting buildings in the area too. The buildings in the photographs have all been designed by foreign architects between 1864 and 1922. All unique and charming in their own way.
There are so many things about Bangkok that you may not know about; European Heritage for one. And, for me, one of the best ways to explore is on foot. Don’t forget comfy shoes and water though 🙂
