Photo Effects

Photo Effects

When I take photos, I rarely use any of the different effects my camera has. I simply point and shoot and, if I feel like it, add a filter afterwards.

But, I like to challenge myself and get outside of my comfort zone, so whilst out on a walk last year, I decided to use 3 different effects which got some interesting results.

Toy Camera Effect

This effect darkens and blurs the corners of the image, and changes the overall colour so that it looks like an image shot with a toy camera.

Miniature Effect

This effect blurs chosen portions in the top and bottom of an image to produce the effect of a miniature model.

Monochrome Effect

You can shoot images in black and white, sepia or blue and white. I chose sepia.

I like what I ended up with – especially the miniature photos. What do you think?

How do you challenge yourself in photography?
